From those of us who have collected in the type locality
of the so called Melongena corona sprucecreekensis, it is
obvious that the shell described by Tucker is not different from
the normal M. corona.  The specimens which can be collected
there (Halifax River, Rose Bay, Spruce Creek) run the gamut from
what you might find in Cedar Key to the illustrated holotype of
Tucker.  All the forms found there are larger than what you would
normally find elsewhere - an adult female (Halifax River in some
areas) typically is 150 mm. and not unusually 175 plus mm.
