The Van Wezel Hall in Sarasota, Florida, designed by the Frank Lloyd
Wright Institute, was inspired by Lopha cristagalli, even down to the
purple color. A specimen of the shell is displayed in its lobby. It is
known affectionately as the Purple Cow.
