Hi,

I'm back after being away from Conch-L for months and months. And you
know why I'm back? Because of the humanity of the site.

So why did I leave? Because I thought there was just too much traffic
on it. But, to tell the truth, that is exactly what makes this site
great. It isn't just a dry, scientific forum. It is people enjoying
people as well as shells. And it is increasingly obvious that most of us
don't want to live in a vacuum, but want to share our interests and our
lives with others. It ain't fun being hermits, and we strive mightily
not to be.

Sure, we should try to keep most, and I mean MOST, of the messages to
shells. But if it were ALL shells, I would leave again, and soon. And
for you kids out there, of all ages but right now especially those of
teen and pre-teen age, the world IS your oyster, because it is humor,
and arguing, and fun, science, and silliness.

Lose your sense of humor at your peril.
