About 4 years ago Jean Andrews gave a talk at the Texas Shellers Jamboree
in San Antonio on the use of shells in/on graves.  She had researched many
different cultures and their burial practices, specifically the use of
shells in the adornment on graves.  I think she may have written a book but
I can not confirm this.
