<< Dear Carole,

Correct spelling is "tigerinus", as demonstrated by HP Wagner (Vita Marina
41(1): 10-12). According to Wagner, this species is in Palliolum
 Monterosato, 1884.

Dear Gijs,
Wagner is probably correct, but I am compiling a complete taxonomic list of
all Pectinoidea, and feel to be safe I need to actually see the citation.
There are an equal number of as seemingly competent authors who have spelled
it tigrinus. I can give you many many instances in the Pectens where mistakes
have been compounded because someone took someone else's word. Thank you for
the comeback.
