Dear Jeff,
Welcome to the list. I have a good friend in Nashville named John Penell.
John is a great songwriter that used to play bass and write songs for Union
Station with Alison Krauss. John is coming up here to Urbana on the 28th
to do a show at our local tavern. My girlfriend Kathy will be singing
back-up at the gig along with Dawna Nelson (whose sister Deana [sp.?] plays
drums at the Opry). Anyway, welcome to the group. I'm sure you will find
the list members to be a varied lot, with no lack of opinions to share.
I'm the curator of the museum here at Illinois and if you are ever up this
way stop by and I will show you the collection (mostly freshwater but many
marnine species as well) and we can go out to hear some live music. There
is always someone playing in town 7 days a week.
