Re: Carrier shells. I had always found them to be scarce as hen's
teeth, although I once found one alive on a diving trip off the
FL east coast - just turned over a little clump of plant life and
there it was. Then, in Eleuthera last year, there was a sudden
storm that blew up the waves. It must have turned over a colony
or something because after the wind died, they were everywhere.
Each little round clump of plant life on the sand was a carrier
shell.
