Andrew,
Harold and Emily Vokes come immediately to mind.
Lovell Reeve, who produced the magnificent Conch. Iconica in the mid
1800's died before its completion. His wife saw to it that it was
completed. The last 5 (6?) volumes were written by Sowerby. Don't know
if she had true conchological inclinations but I would put her in
contention for seeing this work to completion.
ST Brooks, the third curator of malacology at the Carnegie was married.
He and his wife jointly published at least one paper that I know
of. He had a PhD from Univ. Pittsburgh and she a masters degree from the
same institution.
