Todays evening I saw a lot of Cypraea bassaterranensis in television. They
all have a very bright orange . Maybe a synonym of Cypraea aurantium. How
many would be there be worldwide.
with best shelling greetings

Dear List,
Sorry this subject is not really shell-related!
As far as I know there are about 15 million specimens of Cypraea
bassaterranensis Nisters 2000. If this species is a Cypraea, which I doubt,
for I belong to this species and don't feel like a Cypraea, it is a
subspecies of C. aurantium. It is clearly restricted to a geographic area
that is not connected with the area of C. aurantium aurantium.
