Dear Olivier (and other interested parties),
Trochus/Calliotropis glyptus was illustrated in the original publication:
Watson (1886). Mollusca from the Challenger Expedition. Zoology 15. p. 75
for some odd reason it was left out of Wilson's Australian Marine Shells
(it is a large and fairly common shell so I really don't understand this).
So it appears the first time it has ever been photographed (I don't claim
brownie points for this) is:
Jansen (1994) Notes on the Australian species of Calliotropis (Gastropoda:
Trochidae) with descriptions of four new species. Molluscan Research 15, p.
44 - 45.
