At least a few species have been officially recognized for their lack of
attractiveness.  A couple that come to mind are Pyrulofusus deformis and
Stavelia horrida.  Then there is Entodesma saxicola, whose scientific
name refers to its habitat, but whose common name, which appears in many
books, is the northwest ugly clam.
