A further search of my files found this four page, mouth-watering
description of Tangle netting experiences in the Philippines....site
locations, descriptions of preparing and laying the net, and names of many
species fished from the nets. The article consists of notes taken by
Richard Parker who lives in Mindanao,and can be found in "Of Sea and
Shore", Vol.23, No.1, beginning on page 18. The list of shells includes
Cymatiums, Fusinus, Angaria, Xenophora, Bufonaria, Strombus, Latirus,
Haustellum, Conus, Harpa, Latiaxis, Phyllocoma, Chicoreus, Murex,
Laevicardium, Malleus, Spondylus, Chlamys, of yes, Cypraea. Start knitting
those nets !
