Great idea, Simon!
Seriously, my specimen with glass is clearly the real thing, and the
observer can easily see the way the shell has grown around the piece.
The one with the bottlecap was real too.
Look at it this way... there is lots of garbage lying on the
seafloor... I see aluminum beer cans come up in the dredge. So a
Xenophora with a taste for something different probably has plenty to
choose from.
Heck, I want one with a BEER CAN!
