Hello folks,
While reviewing synonyms of Adelomelon ancilla i've found out a
"Scaphella arnheimi Rivers 1893".
Well, Clench & Turner did mention it as been published in the
Proc. Calif. Acad. Sci 3(2):107. There is no ilustration on this
work, and i think the description does not conform with a
Adelomelon. Especially by the protoconch description and the
animal distribution (California! marked as in error by Clench &
Turner).
A google search shown that Reevers also published a work in
Nautilus 1892 5(10):111-112 (Thanks José Leal to keep Nautilus
table of contents on-line!!!) with the same title "A new
Volutoid shell from Monterey Bay". I don't know if it is a
disctintc shell been described or if Proc. Calif. Acad. Sci
paper is a reprint...
Does anybody know if is there any ilustration on this work?
Maybe someone could provide me a scan of it?!
Regards to you all
Fabio Wiggers.
