Let's face it- there IS a place for a little light-hearted
Tee-Heeing on the list, but a modicum of caution is clearly called for.
The leucodon "joke" which caused so much furor, is an interesting case-
it was meant as a deliberate (and surprisingly successful!) baiting of
Helmut, which might seem humorous to some, but because of its nature was
misconstrued by many- with hard feelings resulting! While i am NOT
saying we should restrict ourselves to telegraphed slapstick in the
funny-bone dept., I AM saying we should pause a moment to check
proposed gags for possible explosive content, or cheap laughs at someone
else's expense, BEFORE sending it out into the ether.
P.S.: Carol- LOVED the poem- it certainly helped break up the tension
some!!!
