Hello All,
Just want to make sure I have this right. Years ago obtained a pecten
species,
Pecten nobilis (Reeve, 1852). Along came Compendium Of Seashells and it
became Chlamys senatoria subspecies nobilis (Reeve, 1852). Then the GUIDEBOOK
TO PECTEN SHELLS was published and it became Chlamys (Mimachlamys)
crassicostata (Sowerby II, 1842). So it is now C. (Mimachlamys) crassicostata
(Sowerby II, 1842) - right??? Also, if I were to make a label for this shell
if I were entering a shell show, is it ok to call it Mimachlamys or should I
call it Chlamys (Mimachlamys)??
Confused as Usual,
