Hello All,
Chlamys (Annachlamys) leopardus (Reeve, 1853) is listed in; Guidebook
To Pecten Shells, Compendium of Shells, and just to add a third source
Seashells of the World. I was also looking for Chlamys (Annachlamys)
leopardus melica Iredale, 1939). My specimens of this species look more like
Annachlamys reevei (Adams & Reeve, 1850). Both Chlamys (Annachlamys)
leopardus & melica are listed as synonyms of Annachlamys flabellata (Lamarck,
1819) in Bivalves of Australia Vol. 1. What is the status of C. leopardus?
In addition to Mimachlamys, are any of the following sub-genus now
considered
to be genus; Annachlamys, Belchlamys, Cryptopecten, Leptopecten, Mirapecten,
Pacipecten and Swiftopecten.
Thanking all in advance.
Best Regards,
Bob
