Pat,
You need to get:
1. Pilsbry, H.A. 1939-1948. Land Mollusca of North America (north of Mexico).
Volumes 1 and 2. Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia.
2. Hubricht, L. 1985. The distributions of the native land mollusks of the
eastern United States. Fieldiana: Zoology, New Ser., No. 24:1-191.
Pilsbry's volume 1, part 2, volume 2, parts 1 & 2 were available from the ANS
a year ago. You can find more information about ordering them at their web
page (www.acnatsci.org).
Hubricht's monograph gives county-based ditributions of land snails. It won't
help you identify specimens directly, but you will have an idea of what they
may be.
