I found this one article at least by the late Dr. Schilder
about animals attaching to cowries.

I recall at least one other but I'll have to search a bit.

For the greatest part, even the Cypraea in surf zones manage
to keep their shells free of attaching life forms. However,
I have seen images of a barnacle covered over by nacre on
a cowry.
