Patty,
Many thanks for the information on both subjects.  This evening I consulted
with a friend who is a corporate Web designer.  He suggested that I encrypt
every mailto: link on my site, which I'm doing right now.  I suggest to
anyone out there with a Web site to do the same if you have not done so
already.  There are various java scripts that will provide the needed
security to keep the hackers/spammers/virus-mongers from extracting email
addresses from a Web page.
