   Subject:  Bonaire land snails
 
Hi folks,
I'm recently back from a trip to Bonaire, an island in the
southern Caribbean, studying squid behavior. While exploring
the island we noticed many land snails, of two species. These
were interesting in that they were crawling on the cactus
(Bonaire is very dry and cactus are a prevalent vegetation). It
seemed unusual to find molluscs in such an arid environment.
Does anyone know what these snails might be, or be able to
point me to a reference?
