Try brushing Armor All on the aperture then do it again in three days to
a week. Brush it again every three to six months. I can't guarantee
that it won't fade but I am reasonably sure that it will not fade nearly
as fast. I have experimented with Armor All time and time again. I
have ruined some shells with it but I also have had some very good
results. You have to know your shells before you apply it. There is
another similar product on the market called 303 but I have never tried
it.
