Hola from Mexico!

I have no write to CONCH-L since .... but I read every mail every day,
Idid not forgotten the list.
To Giancarlo and others interested , there is in Cancún several shell
resources, the most expensive in the town is a shell store "Belmar" that
has two sites in town, both of them in the malls, one at "Plaza Caracol"
an the other y "Plaza las Americas" they have pretty good shells, some
of it are imported from other countries.
The other sites I know about are kind of mobile exhibits belonging to
the fishermen and You can find it in "Punta Sam" (boarding dock to "Isla
Mujeres") and at "Isla Mujeres".
There is no active shell collecting industry here in Quintana Roo but
almost any fisherman in the area can tell you to whom You must address
to get some shells of our coasts.
As a footnote, be aware, our regulations about shelling are not too
precise so it is easy somebody wants to fake You with spurious
permissions, be sure to ask to our local authorities at SEMARNAT, it's
office is in Kukulcan Boulevard.

Best regards
Alberto
