Some years ago I shelled with some Spaniards from Barcelona. We went
about two hours south of Barcelona to L'Ampolla and the next day to the
delta of the Rio Ebro (near L'Ampolla. There was good beach shelling
and some also in the water. At L'Ampolla there's a beach you can see
from the road. It had LOTS of bivalves, very colorful. Towards town
there were intertidal rocky areas and the best was at the boat launch
ramp where there were lots of live shells and crabbed things within
easy reach and wading.

At the delta it would be easy to get lost. At Playa de la Marquesa we
got some picnic shells and Aphorrhais.

I also went to Vilanove i la Geltru, closer to Barcelona, to  the
public beach. Beach shelling was pretty good, and it would be even
better in the water but I didn't want to get wet that day. The water
was clear and warm. Got cancellarias, murex.

The grunge on the coast is surprisingly rich. You won't see the tiny
things til you look hard!
