The Cypraea tigris pictured here is a dark specimen, but certainly not
impossibly dark. I have a few that are much darker than this one, the
dorsums being essentially black, with no spots discernable. The shell
pictured here is a nice dark specimen but the dorsal spots are easily
discernable.  It's a good price for a shell this dark, which is uncommon,
but not a great rarity.
