Dear all:

During the last 8 years I have been studying the littoral molluscan fauna
of the Azores. Several check-lists published in local papers (Açoreana and
Arquipélago) (Ávila & Azevedo, 1997; Ávila et al., 1998; Ávila et al,
2000a, 2000b; Ávila, Cardigos & Santos, 2004 ) have allowed to establish
the present biogeographical relationships of the Azorean littoral
malacofauna (Ávila, 2000a; Ávila & Albergaria, 2002). These studies have
led to interesting hypothesis that are discussed on my PhD thesis and in
some other papers (Ávila, 2000b; Ávila, 2003; Ávila & Malaquias, 2003;
Ávila et al., 2005).

The Pleistocene deposits of Santa Maria Island were also studied and a
revision of the malacofauna was also published (Ávila et al., 2002).

The next step of my investigation will be to study the Miocene-Pliocene
deposits that exist also at Santa Maria Island. For that, I was wondering
if there is out there an expert on Miocene-Pliocene fossils of the American
Atlantic side. I needed to have data on the species reported to the
Atlantic shores of America and Caribbean during these periods, as well on
the relevant bibliography.

With very best wishes, I thank you for the help.

P.S.: if anybody is interested in some of the papers, please ask.
