I am also using one of these "toys" which I bought from BH in NY, mostly for quick pictures I take
on my desk (not for the photos on our website though). Indeed the white balance is tricky, but I
gave up trying to adjust the camera to compensate it and fix colors on Photoshop (not too hard).
The advantage of this type of flash is that you can actually see the subject how it will be
pictured. Also, you can elevate the shell on a pin and use reflectors to illuminate the surrounding
darker areas.

I also got from BH a rechargeable 9 V battery (with charger) which was quite cheap (9V batteries
here costs up to US$6.00 a piece!)
