Fantastic video!

It's a bit silly for them to say the squid "come ashore to lay eggs"
and "make their way onto the sand", though. No cephalopod lays its
eggs on shore, to my knowledge, though some do lay eggs in rather
shallow water. Firefly squid spawn fairly close to shore and sometimes
end up on the beach (apparently when that happens, the locals say the
squid are "drowning themselves"). The squid in the video have
presumably already spawned, and are washing ashore as they die.

If they've already spawned, it's no great loss for the squid -- they're
going to die anyway. At least this makes a nice spectacle for
terrestrial creatures!
