In light of some recent posts it is time to remind everyone of the
rules for Conch-L.  They come from our server.
The list is maintained by a group of volunteers who strive to help
everyone follow the rules.

If you are posting anything to the list that is commercial or a link
to your personal commercial site, don't.  You may include your
business name in your signature but not in the body of your letter.

Please don't shoot the messenger!

1. NO Commercial Advertising (Very Important!!!)

    Why is conch-l non-commercial?
Yes we are hosted by a University and they do have rules about
commercial
posting.  We do allow informational posts, such as announcements of new
websites, books, DVD, shell club and COA announcements.  But this
list is
not a place to send advertisements for your own personal gain.

2. NO Big Files or 'Attached' Files
3. NO Off-Topic Postings
4. NO Flaming

CONSEQUENCES:
1. A warning
2. Being placed on review (requires list manager approval of postings)
3. Status changed to read only (preventing posts to the list)
4. Suspension -- temporary or permanent


RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Follow the rules
2. Look before you send
3. Remember we're International
4. Respect the people who keep the List running
