Thanks, Martin. I use gastropods.com frequently and I've contributed images there.

I have found that the shells depicted with the species names can be accurate. But sometimes there can be, say, three obviously different species under the same name. I'm not knocking it because I doubt I would do better, especially given the size of the undertaking.

So far, I haven't seen evidence that Synaptocochlea specific names correspond to any particular pattern, color or shape.
