Specifically avoid State Parks when collecting.  Taking any live animals is
prohibited and enforced.  They don't even like you taking dead shells, but
apparently its not quite such a bad thing.  When I was down there a few years
ago the ranger only got very grumpy, but let me keep my car and the battered
Tellina fausta valve I had picked up.  Also its a law down there that you have
to tow a dive flag when snorkelling so the bone fishermen don't mistake you for
a manatee and run over you.
