My husband has been digging out the National Geographics mentioned on
Conch-L, which is a chore since we have a great number stored in
boxes. But we have enjoyed looking up the articles mentioned. In
fact, we have decided to display the magazines with our shells rather
than return them to storage.

The first mentioned, March 1969, page 414, that pictured John E. du
Pont has us particularly curious. Is Mr. du Pont still living. Is
his collection at the Delaware Museum of Natural History? If not,
does anyone know what happened to it? It would certainly be something
to see.

Is Paul A. Zahl, who wrote the article and others for National
Geographic, still living? What about Dr. Harald A. Rehder of the
Smithsonian who contributed help to Dr. Zahl?

It would be interesting to find out what happened to these people and
if they are still interested in shell collecting.
