I have Eudora pro 2.2 and if not is expressly indicate it download
automatically the e-mail and the attachment, but I know that the
virus starts only when a file is used (exe/com) or from a file that
it used from another program such Word/Excel...
I thinks that if one is not sure of the file attached can simply
delete it , and the virus cannot do damages.
