Dear Gary,

No, I'm not applying... yet.

Please consider collecting Fluvinerita tenebricosa (C. B. Adams, 1851)
(Adams, C. B., 1851. Descriptions of new freshwater snails which inhabit
Jamaica. Contrib to Conch. no. 9: 174-175. April; republished in Adams, C.
B., 1851. Ann. Lyc. Nat. Hist. N. Y. 5: 77-80. May.) (+ Nerita alticola
Pilsbry, 1932; type lot ANSP 153559; Pilsbry, H. A., 1932. A Jamaican
fluviatile Nerita. Proc. A. N. S. P. 84: 11-13, figs. 1-2. Mar. 3.)
Type locality of F. t. was Black River, Jamaica; that of N. a. 1000ft.,
Great River, 18 mi. above its mouth. It occured "deep" in strong currents.

I think this generic unit is truly monotypic (at least in the Recent).

I somehow have failed to deposit a specimen in the Lee collection.

Have a good field trip; I'm envious.

Harry
