OK for the database, but the pricing of shells is today a specialists
matter, I dare say that. We live in a time where a giant Littorina will get
much more than a poor valentia, one out of thousands of examples. Rice's
catalogue has a special system, keeps only track of american listed shells,
and changes the prices only when new shells turn up. So you get prices from
15 years ago. European collectors should buy in many cases "the complete
family" at these conditions. It is incredibly used by collectors to put
quickly author and date on their labels (and this is a nice positive
point), but does not reflect present values for shells except for the
classic groups. My own catalogue with Jacques Senders has been written in
1993 and is not a valuable reference any longer: about everything changed
since that time. May be it can still be used to track down some opinions
etc... but no longer for prices.

Glad to receive the worldwide opinions on this subject.
