I just got home from a trip to Gainesville, Florida and vicinity. While
there I spent a day working in the malacology collection on a couple of new
Scaphella. However, I did find time to look at a few other items. Based on
this and other trips to FLMNH let me say that the Beal-Maltbie Museum is
indeed incorporated into the collection. I frequently come upon specimens in
both the marine and freshwater cabinets. The labels are clearly marked that
the specimens are from the Beal-Maltbie Collection. The collection is not on
display, but is an integral part of the overall collection. I suspect it is
too large to be displayed in its entirety.
