The genus for gigantea is now Crassodoma Bernard, 1986.
  Tom Waller did not change it but he has a good discussion of the genus in
the American Malacological Bulletin 10(2) 1993. Crassodoma is distinguished
from Hinnites by having a "typical, free" Chlamys stage before settling down
and cementing to the substrate.
