Hello!

Best spot for what? Since this is CONCH-L, a mollusc topic server,  I assume you
mean the
best spot for molluscs. Will you be collecting or strictly photographing the
molluscs or
other sealife inhabiting the tide pools? It may be illegal to even approach some
tide pools.
Some areas are off limits due to destruction of the tide pool ecosystem by
people walking about
and disturbing/crushing the fauna and habitat.

Become familiar with the local ordinances in Calif. before venturing to the
coast line areas. You
may need permits in some cases. It is Illegal to collect Pismo Clams (unless you
have a permit).
