>D. D. Turgeon et al. 1988. Common and Scientific Names of Aquatic
>Invertebrates from the United States and Canada: Mollusks. AFS Special
>Publication 16. 277 pp.
The second edition is in the final proofing stage and will go to press later
this year. Most of the malacologist involved concerned themselves only with
ensuring that the scientific names were correct. In some cases, however,
common names were created for species that didn't have them, primarily by
translating scientific names to English. Those who note species listed in
this book without common names that do have common names, please let me know
and I'll forward them to the appropriate editor.
