Dear Harry and Lori This is nice information and website. I wonder, however, if Oliver has referred that “M.” as “Melania” instead of “Melanoides”. That is a much more common designation that time and undoubtedly feminine. Well, this is a quite confuse and controversy. Anyway, “Melanoides tuberculata” sounds much weirder than “Melanoides tuberculatus” to my ears. Best regards, Luiz -- Luiz Ricardo L. Simone, Ph.D. Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo Cx.
