I have been in Mirbat. It is a small fishermans village along the southcoast of Oman.
They fish a.o. Haliotis mariae there.

I have a hand written label for a shell from Oman, the unintelligible word in question precedes "Mirbat, South Oman" and may be a more specific locality?
the first letters appear to be D-A-R_ followed by two letters that I cant decipher and/or which don't match up to anything I could find online something like D-A-R-C (?) R(?? ) though as I noted, those last two letters are hard to discern. South Mirbat looks like a pretty small place, at least on a map.
Thanks in advance
