Yesterday I was driving in Wilmington, NC and saw an enormous, I mean YUGE! Conus marmoreus by the side of the road.

It was a digital billboard announcing the upcoming NC Shell Show.

It was the first time I'd ever seen any billboard representation of a shell--and it was startling. 

(The shelling at Ft Fisher is more scant than it's ever been, I have to say.)
