Hi Harry,  good question....when I was writing this chapter, and drawing this figure I was involved with a project utilizing the gonad within a roe-on scallop product...so you would think that I would have been honed in on identifying the gonad, but for some reason I overlooked it...even after countless reviews by myself and reviewers...wish I could go back and include it....oh well....thanks for the note...bob
