We were snorkeling where a reef had developed from tree stumps and we
literally would scoop up 2 dozens in our hands at a time - many nice
specimens, too. From the scientist's view point I'm sure "abundance" is
defined in excess of a specific number - but there were more than we cared to
collect. However, it was limited to this one particular reef inasmuch as a
1/4 mi. further up the beach - olives were no where to be found - only sand
dollars............and so on and so forth.
