Dear Ross,

Some representatives of the Fam. Carychiidae, namely of Genus Zospeum are living in caves as
blind landshells. They measures only a few mm. Some Clausiliidae live on rocks near the entrance
of caves, but are going not very deep into the caves. Such a sample is Charpentieria stenzii faueri
from the Valsugana-region (Prov. Vicenza, Northern Italy), which is living on rocks and rocky
steps, in fessures, nearly without vegetation at the entrance of a cave.
with best regards
Helmut

I'd like to know if there are any known molluscan inhabitants of caves?
i have heard there are some Clausiidae in Japaneese caves, but do not
know if they just hang out near the entrance or not. Can anyone
enlighten the list and me on this topic?
-Ross.
