| No one else on Conch-L responded to me.  There are different variations
| of freak Strombus from Florida and the Caribbean.  I thought it could
| have been an unusual freak.  There should be a lot more of these hybrid
| shells from the locality, which I believe is Puerto Rico.  Since Stombus
| lay a lot of eggs, at least hundreds, probably thousands; common sense
| says probably more should have made it to maturity.
