Dear Patrick,

All three are valid species and are now placed in the genus Nodilittorina.
There has been a lot of study of the anatomy and general biology of each
species (and other look-alike W. Atlantic congeners; see:

Bandel, K. and D. Kadolsky, 1982.  Western Atlantic species of Nodilittorina
(Gastropoda: Prosobranchia): comparative morphology and its functional,
ecological, phylogenetic and taxonomic implications. Veliger 25(1): 1-42. July
