Dear Conchlers,
I write here from Europe, from the other side of the ocean, from where the
forefathers of most in America living people came once, even if many have
maybe already forgotten today that they here and in the European culture
have their roots.
From here, I am startled about the nasty and ugly tone, that does itself
spread in the round of Conch/L. I think, such vocabulary like " a pain in
the ass " or " that idiot C. F. " doesn't belong into a correspondence, that
is read in the whole world. And something like this nasty formulated advices
at Helmut Nisters, would already be hurtful in a privat-mail. Cultivated
people know to express themselves differently, here in Europe anyway. Sorry!
A certain conversation-culture should belong into the honorary-codex of
Conch/L with his global function.
The hint "you are actually need of at good therapist..." is also
superfluous. Only from arrogance, one can say that so. Which other sense
therefore should has as oneself made his mark populist in the
Conch/L-public.
That marks also the draft of this impertinent witchhunt, that is driven
against Helmut Nisters, a stranger, living in the far Austria. These
disguised attaks are much more unbearable to read, than if Helmut seeks help
for his technical problems with the Conch/L-Programm or he to advertise
tries for interest in European landshells. That he worries about his old
mother and brings this to the expression again and again, nobody can
probably take him badly. There was other to filter out. For example the
often real unimportant twaddle of innumerable mails, that fills the screen
daily and had to would absolutely not run around the world.
That the friendly non-committal manner in the American conversationally tone
for Helmut was first foreign, simpleminded natures can probably comprehend
heavily. In his home the people speak kindly and honestly together and also
means it so. That has formed him. And Helmut has big proplems with to learn
that in America it is different. Also that he not understood the cool and
amusing tone of many mails, his mistake was. The Tyrolean breed of people is
cheerful from nature and likes to do jokes. I don't come from Tyrol, but
also in our school we learned the old children's song "The Tyrolean are
merry" at so on! So he thought erroneously, jokes in e-mails would be also
other joy. Also we Europeans have big communication-difficulties with the
Americans and learn to understand them! Against xenophobia, with which we
have ourselves also to wrap around here, we have become very allergic
meanwhile. Also therefore, this witchhunt against Helmut in Conch/L driven
from ignorance is not acceptable.
Helmut is absolutely no "child-head" or "drunk" but in his home a valued and
competent expert for Austrean and North-Italian landshells. Differently he
would not been able to find work in the "Tiroler Landesmuseum". What he
achieved for this museum and also achieves in the schools in his home
otherwise, is unprecedented. Some "only-conchler" in Conch/L could cut
itself off from it a disk.
I hope, CONCH/L finds a decent contact with this man again.
