How about Cypraea nivosa? Once quite rare, now just uncommon. In the other
direction, I remember almost 25 years ago when Cyp exusta was only a $45
shell. Today they can go as high as 5 times as much. This was caused, I am
told, by political unrest. What other factors can effect shell values?
