Just a conciliatory final note on the Shamaron Scandal, to smooth ruffled
feathers all around.  (Thanks for the wise words, Art and Doug.  Whose
moccasins can I borrow?  Any ladies size 8 narrow out there?)
 
No apologies needed, at least not to me.  Everyone was being sincere;
that's good.  Some strong feelings surfaced; that's okay too.  Now we are
getting educated on the matter -- whether we like it or not!  :)  Frankly,
the evidence does appear damning.
 
That's not really the point, though.  My "yuk" reaction came from my
perception of a spiteful personal attack, unsupported by facts.  Thanks for
the archives and newspaper references.  That's the facts.  I'll have to
look those up if I should get a flyer.  It's very unfortunate to see our
friendly shell family has a dark side.
 
Perhaps we should be careful henceforth not to post... hmmm.... derogatory
remarks of a personal nature on Conch-L.  That might make the listserv
party to a civil suit, as an accomplice to libel.  Conch-L could be shut
down, and what a loss that would be to us all.  Just something to think
about.  <shudder>
